The most affluent and lushest area of Outremont, nestled against Mount Royal and the cemeteries, featuring mainly large single-family homes, quiet streets, and low building density.
The historic and institutional heart of the neighborhood, centered around Bernard and Outremont Avenues. The center features a mix of shops and boutiques, restaurants, specialty food stores, heritage buildings, and residential buildings, including small plex buildings.
Near Avenue du Parc, where Outremont meets Mile End. The neighborhood features more duplexes and triplexes, a more diverse population, and an atmosphere reminiscent of Mile End’s neighborhood vibe.
The northernmost part of Outremont, between the MIL campus, Parc-Extension, and Acadie Boulevard. It is an area undergoing transformation, where new residential projects still coexist with a more industrial and institutional environment.

Les résidents n’ayant pas de stationnement privé peuvent faire la demande pour obtenir une vignette de stationnement leur permettant de se stationner n’importe où à Outremont comme il n’y a qu’une seule zone dans le secteur.
Pour la majorité des rues, le stationnement est gratuit jusqu’à 2 heures, de 8h00 à 22h00, au-delà de cette période une vignette est requise.

Beneath the streets of Outremont, the Outremont Stream (also known as Provost Stream) still flows. This watercourse once flowed down from Mount Royal to the Rivière des Prairies but is now almost entirely underground due to urbanization.
For such a central area, it has not completely disappeared. It can be seen above ground in Mount Royal Cemetery, near the entrance on Chemin de la Forêt, as well as in Oakwood Park. Its legacy is also visible in everyday life, as the stream still feeds the pond in Outremont Park and the ponds in Saint-Viateur Park—former marshlands that were transformed into parks as early as 1903.
